Live Stock Market Updates: Nifty above 9,950 & Pharma stocks lead

The INDIA VIX is down 0.89% at 11.84. BSE Sensex is trading at 31,858 up 128 points, while Nifty is trading at 9,951 up 33 points.

Pharma stocks have been lending support to the major benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex in the morning trade.

Nifty Pharma index is top gaining among the sectoral indices on NSE. The index is trading at 9,083 level, up by 223 points or 2.53%. Dr Reddy’s is top gainer in the index trading at Rs 2,177 per share, up by Rs 156.1 per share or 7.72%.

Sun Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma are also among the gainers in the index trading higher by over 2%. Other pharma stocks like Glenmark, GlaxoSmith, PEL and Cadilaare trading higher by 44 

7more than 1%.

There are 1,148 advances, 361 declines and 444 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive sentiments floating in the market.
